Visit Closer to Closing Time

To avoid the biggest crowds, come later in the day when the majority of tourists have already left!

Only Muslims Can Enter the Mosque Area

Non-Muslim tourists can no longer enter the main prayer hall. Instead, visitors must pay for access to the upper galleries, which offer a great view of the interior and its historical mosaics.

Plan Around Friday Prayers

If you’re visiting on Friday, remember that the mosque closes to visitors from 12:30 to 14:30 for prayer time.

Online Tickets

Tickets can be bought on-site, but the lines can be long. To skip the wait, book your official ticket online in advance at least a few days before your visit.

Dress Code for Women

Women must cover their hair and legs. While scarves and coverings are available for a small fee at the entrance, it’s best to bring your own to avoid the extra cost and hassle.
