Incense curling out of temple gates, scooters weaving through flower offerings, rice terraces so green they don’t look real, surfers chasing waves in Canggu, jungle villas with infinity pools, and sunsets that somehow spill into all-night beach parties.

Swim with Caution

The currents can be strong, so pay attention to the flags and lifeguards’ warnings. If you’re not a confident swimmer, stick to the designated safe areas.

Limited Showers and Toilets

There are basic shower and toilet facilities available near the beach, but they are often limited and not always in the best condition.

Sunbeds and Umbrellas for Rent

You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas directly on the beach from local vendors. Prices are negotiable, so don’t hesitate to bargain a little for the best deal. Towels are not provided with sunbed rentals.

Beware of the Hustle

Kuta is a busy spot with lots of vendors selling everything from souvenirs to massages. It adds to the local vibe, but be prepared for some persistent sales pitches.

Perfect for Surfing Beginners

Consistent waves make it a popular spot for beginner surfers. There are plenty of surf schools and board rentals along the beach, so it’s easy to get started.
