Rome

The Colosseum stands proud, ruins still breathe history, the Vatican dazzles with detail, mornings start with espresso in a crowded piazza, afternoons drift into plates of cacio e pepe, and evenings end under a sky that turns everything gold.

Book in advance

Tickets should be reserved a few days before your visit. They sell out quickly and each ticket is tied to a fixed entry time.

Best time to visit

The most comfortable visits are either early in the morning or at the latest available time in the evening. Morning hours mean smaller crowds and cooler air. Evening hours bring softer light and a calmer atmosphere.

Arena and underground access

This option is highly recommended. The arena floor lets you see the monument from a gladiator’s perspective. The underground levels show tunnels, cages for animals, and the lift system that brought beasts and stage sets up to the arena.

Roman Forum included

The same ticket gives access to the Forum. Plan plenty of time because the site is large and full of details. If you cannot finish on the same day, the Forum part of the ticket is still valid the following day.

"Two thousand years ago it was lions, swords and emperors’ thumbs. Today it is selfie sticks and guided tours. Somehow the Colosseum still feels epic."
